THE TRUTH? THE WHOLE TRUTH?

Sam Sam Jaja Speaks   During the National Sports festival, I saw Dr Sam Sam Jaja who I had not seen in a long time and he accused me of not asking after him and his case again. I laughed and asked, if the case was still ‘on’ and he replied ‘yes’ He further went on to say that not only was it on, but he was sure of victory because he was right. Well last weekend it turned out that he indeed was. A court ruled in his favor, in a case he instituted over his wrongful disqualification from partaking in the NPL elections. And that ruling seems to have thrown Nigerian football into another round of chaos. Today (24 January 2012) I spoke exclusively to Dr Jaja and here are excerpts from our recorded conversation.

PAPISS DEMBA CISSE: Newcastle’s Next Great Number Nine?

Image
A look at Newcastle's new signing Papiss Cisse, can he be another great number nine for the Tynesiders? Newcastle United’s latest acquisition Papiss Demba Cisse has been awarded the prestigious number nine shirt after his recent arrival from German Bundesliga side Freiberg for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £10 million. The Senegal international faces the daunting task of following in the footsteps of many Tyneside favourites who have worn the shirt, but can the January transfer window’s highest profile signing so far live up to the expectations? Twenty-six year old Cisse has agreed a long term five-and-half-year deal with the Magpies, after completing his move before jetting off to represent his country in the African Cup of Nations, alongside Newcastle’s top scorer Demba Ba, who has managed to net fifteen times this season in what has been nothing short of a remarkable season for the former West Ham man.
